Tea light

Particular fragrances can be matched to any mood you want to create. They can be perfectly combined with candles that emit wonderful scents. Fill your home with scented tea light candles when holding a dinner party or celebrating a special occasion. These items are conveniently small so they don’t have the danger of tipping over or getting in anyone’s way in general.
Here are some decorating ideas using tea light candles:

~Float them in bowls or vases of liquid. Add some flower petals or a slice of fruit like lemon or lime to float along.
~Insert tea lights in hollow items like a mini pumpkin, or the waxy outer skin of a citrus fruit. This will create lovely glows around a table or room.
~Put them inside plain glass votive holders and enjoy these classic and elegant additions to the table.
~Line them up on window sills or the edges of stair step

Scented candles

Unwind after a long day in the office. Come home to an aromatic environment by lighting scented candles as you prepare dinner or soak in a warm bath. De-stress with vanilla-scented candles and let your tiredness roll off your shoulders. Even for just an hour or two, take some time to clear your mind of worries and simply inhale wonderful fragrances.

Lighting soy candles and other natural vegetable wax candles is environmentally friendly. Have more time to take it slow around the house or put your feet up while you listen to soft sounds on the radio. Scented candles are great items to have at home because you can always enjoy the subtle qualities of a quiet life anytime you need to during the day or night.

The Case Against Petro-based Scented Candles

smokestack.jpgThroughout history people have found many substances that provide light when burned. These were often plant or animal fats and oils that were used soon after being harvested.

In modern times the discovery of petroleum which was formed after plant and animal remains were exposed to great pressure over a significant period of time created a completely new branch of scientific discovery and exploration. Paraffin-based candles and scented candles are the results of this science.

Unfortunately, burning petroleum (in any form) produces unfortunate byproducts including carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and volatile organic composites which contribute to particulate matter in the air. These are the factors responsible for many respiratory and other health problems for those exposed.

For these reasons natural wax scented candles are gaining in popularity. One only need do a side-by-side (or room-by-room) test to discover the benefits of clean burning petro free candles.

I really don’t enjoy gift shopping! If you understand what I mean then no further explanation is necessary. I think that civilization is divided into two sectors; those who enjoy gift shopping and folks like me.

There are however certain types of gifts that are almost sure to please. Among these are a tastefully scented candle that complements the holiday spirit.

There is still time to have these pleasing gifts delivered before Christmas but don’t delay.

Happy holidays to all
